Control of Entry and Exit from Canada

“The Entry/Exit Program is a joint initiative, from the Beyond the Border Action Plan, between Canada and the United States (U.S.). Its purpose is to establish a coordinated Entry/Exit Information System to facilitate the exchange of travellers’ biographic information (such as their name and date of birth) collected upon entry at the common land border, so a record of entry into one country can be considered a record of exit from the other.

In addition to the exchange of data with the U.S. at the land border, the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) will collect exit data directly from airlines on all travellers leaving Canada by air.”
